Starrett makes plenty of dial bore gages that read in tenths of a thou.....And i
find it pretty hard to believe you can do better by hand. A sheet of paper is
about 0.002 on the average.. so slice it twenty times and tell me if there are 
13
or 14 slices in your hand. I doubt it. I have built race engines for 30 years
that have won races everywhere and I can't tell.
