Well another race at Maxton has come and gone.... Joe Timney's mother passed
away and he was unable to make it.... I just wanted to start this off by
passing along all of our heart felt condolences to Joe...

Joe being our Chief timer caused some interesting moments... but John
Beckett's back up plans worked out real well... Saturday was a bit slow and
confusing to start, but it picked up around mid morning and got REAL confusing
( teasing John ) things actually ran real smooth....

The Whole ECTA volunteer group is to be commended for handling the meet
extremely well.... amazing group of people who continue to work their butt's
off.

We had a couple of entry's into the Two Club on Motorcycles... Wayne Pollack
and Mike Shamma's.... and quite frankly that is getting tougher and tougher
to do... we had a fella run 208mph and NOT set a record.... The whole idea
that someday the record books would fill up is actually taking place...

I had the booster seat in the Camaro and Tonya Hanley was the designated
driver... She's never driven a race car and quite frankly this was a challenge
I just couldn't resist... She wanted to drive and since she's got a cute
little tush... well you get the picture... Seriously she brings some great
organizational skills to the table... Anyway we made 5 passes with her in the
car.... started out with a No Time trip to the grocery store.... then ran
109...129... and backed it up with a 126 with a Red Light in the cockpit for
Water Temp.... She handled it perfectly and shut it down... Then once it was
cool and the water refilled she ran 133.871mph for her best speed...

Keep in mind this was her first time inside a car with all the noise... so the
only goal we had was the D Lic.... and we accomplished that.... very cool
really...

I'm going to write a New Driver e-mail just to get this put in the
archives...
