Ok, yes I have been on the sidelines for a while,
I have had a busy time getting the Monza ready for Speedweek. I have a bad
habit off rebuilding the car between meets.Since the July El Mirage we
repainted
the car (hope everyone likes it this time) and swapped back in the "B" short
block after the heads were reconditioned and the crank polished.
I was very proud of our perfomance at Speedweek allthough we did not bring a
record home. We able to put the car in impound off the trailer @ 220+ ,
record the next day, lose the record (by 1 mph) get back in impound the next
day @
224+ with 227 exit speed, my fastest ever.
We are rebuilding the car again sort of. Last Sat. after our return we pulled
the motor out of the Monza and installed it into Earl Woodens new Streamliner
(Howards old one) We hope to return to the salt in Sept as Wooden & Stewart
Racing .A lot of work ( "Its a smallblock, should be just a bolt in") haha.
Hope to see everyone soon at World of Speed
Thanks, Tom Stewart B/CGC Monza # 385 or B/GS #65
