Spark plugs.

My motorcycle has the option of running several different types of plugs
according to my shop manual. What appear to be the "raciest" plugs are
referred to as "cold type plugs". Can anyone explain the difference,
advantages, disadvantages, proper application etc. between the different
types of plugs?
