Keith,
What if the design of the cockpit limits lateral head and torso 
movement? What's left then is the 7 point harness system which is a 
very valuable addition to the safety of our cars in my view because 
it prevents the driver's head from jamming into the top of the roll 
cage....the Hans Device doesn't do that. Application of the Hans 
device should be on a cockpit by cockpit basis.
