something classic, try a bmw R100 RT between 1981-84.. good protection from
the wind, 3 disc brakes, 5 speed trans,easy operating clutch, comfortable,
bmw quality, enough power to get out on the highway with two up,
airheads@micapeak.com is an email list for upkeep and repair, speaking of
which, bmw still has 90%+ of the parts in stock... used parts are not a
problem either, fuel economy is 37-47 mpg depending on how you ride... they
cost between $2500-4500 or so depending on condition/mileage of course, and
have for the last 10 years...so they hold value well... looks good too. I
have 49K miles on mine...6k with a homebuilt sidecar... keep your eyes
open and do the MSF course every year, I learn something new each time I
go... good way to meet friends and learn new riding routes, there are
twisties out there that are really neat to travel....
working on my bsa 441 victor bike #457 for the Salt this year.. gonna get
back and see how fast it will go...
