JD, there's no good reason to keep everything in a binder (or in a
plastic hard folder like I do). That is, everyone knows that
inspectors have six or seven hands and really enjoy juggling all the
pages that fly out when a gust of wind passes through the inspection
tent, and everyone knows that inspectors don't need to look at any
particular page more than one time per season, and for that matter,
writing on a hard surface (like might be afforded by the afore-
mentioned binder or hard folder) is not enough challenge --
inspectors really are good at writing legibly using only their thigh
as a writing platform.

The hard folders we use have a spring clip on the front -- holds
papers in place, they've got a couple of plastic dividers inside to
keep things like those extra photos, emails and letters from advisors
telling you that your cockamamie idea is acceptable, they've got room
for pit passes, and even have a small compartment on the bottom where
a few extra pens can be kept (in case you're lucky enough to be next
to someone in line that elects to take your favorite pen as a
souvenir). Oh, yeah -- the folders are available at a specialty
store of which you might have heard -- Wal-Mart.
