[Land-speed] Home Generator suggestions

Has anyone run across a hot setup for a home generator for use in
emergencies?
I have seen a couple of posts mentioning the use of a home generator.  What
kind of features would you look for in a generator, switch, fuel type,
mounting location, etc?
