Item 3 is of course of great importance but stitching is not that exotic.  My
local machine shop just used it to repair a freeze crack in my Mayflower
block.  the plugs are made of cast iron them selves.  A series of tapped holes
are made in the crack, the tapered plug applied , then snapped off and ground
flush.  Done right, it works well.    However, a replacement head for an XPAG
should not be that difficult to find.
I had one for a while but sold it.
