  I am really glad you found this out before I did.  Your analysis sounds
reasonable and in fact somewhere in my notes I remember a warning about this
problem when using the later engines.  When I get home this evening I'll look
through and find the reference.
  Roger Parker may be the one who mentioned it and he may have a solution.  It
might be worthwhile getting in touch with him through the MG Enthusiasts BB.
