But it seems to me that if you wanted all that air moving about your
passenger compartment, you could just drop the hood...

I just scanned my original Handbook and found no mention of it.  It
occurs to me that it could possibly refer to the bonnet latch release
cable, but the terminology is odd...

Would anybody care to discuss this further?  This is a real sore point
for me, and I'd like to see the actual DOT specification.  Is it some
sort of minimum height requirement for the taillamps?  As soon as we
close on this house, I'm planning on buying UK-spec lenses; that's the
way it should be.
