The buick/rover is a _Great_ choice because the factory did it...so if you
wish you can track down all the manifolds etc from English sources. British
Parts Direct does these conversions all the time, they prefer late-rubber
bumper cars because the radiator is already pushed out of the way...but of
course those cars are IMPOSSIBLE to get legal in calif due to the smog
police here.
The later Rover motors are much improved over the Buick/Olds stuff...BMC
fixed all the design flaws that GM included originally. Lots of hot
rodders/airplane people etc have used this motor so aftermarket info is
available. "Somewhere" in the San Jose area there was (and may still be ) a
machine shop that specialized in these beasts. Otherwise, get a reference
from your local speed shop...or call Vic Hubbard's in Hayward, they should be
able to put you on to someone local who really knows the motors. (I wouldn't
use an old Buick motor without going through it , GM used such niceties as
Sand-Cast pistons that fell apart at about 5000RPM)
Happy Hunting!
