girling or armstrong are the proper manufacturers of mg shocks. any
reputable dealer can supply you with new or rebuilt shocks. i replace shocks
with rebuilts which i procure locally for $45 wholesale ea. retail at $75 ea
installed.some rebuits have better seals than original (especially the older
t type shocks). tube type shocks in my shop install at $70 per axle.----
they leak just as quickly and they are harder to find because there are no
factory specs to refer to in any parts manuals.GUS the following discourse
is for the benefit of all----- lever type shocks can be modified by
installing different viscosity oil or by installing stiffer or softer
valving.so why whould you change to tube type. i just converted a b back to
lever type shocks last week after the rear upper mounting threads stripped
out of the conversion plate and the shock fell down and flipped the rt rear
wheel up and the owner almost lost control of the car.------ the factory
engineers knew what they were doing ------ trust them ----- keep you car as
it should beeeee! thats the fun of owning something as unique and different
as an MG! get with the program and understand cecil kimbers philosophy of
why the MG exists.
