I would agree with James on *all* suggested items, and add a few myself.  I 
would take along a spare set of coolant hoses (or better yet just put new 
ones on before you leave).  Replace the fan belt.  Take along a few cans of 
hydraulic fluid (make sure you know what type is in the system now), just in 
case there is a leak or two that hasn't shown up with the car sitting in the 
garage.  Double check the usability of your spare (does the car have a 
jack?) for a slow leak that now has it flat.   Do you have a small fire 
extinguisher?  No reason not to be a bit cautious regarding fires suddently 
cropping up in a car that hasn't had much attention paid to it recently 
(i.e. what condition is your electrical insulation in?)  Last but not least: 
maybe you could post your route and ask for list members along the way who 
might offer help in an emergency.  You're not planning a trip around the 
horn, and we all know the thing will get you there in fine fettle (so to 
speak), but you did ask...   :-)
