A recently published article in the MGCC newsletter in England, from one of
the old factory guys, said that although of course the MG came from Morris
originally, it was never intended to _stand_ for Morris Garages, the quibble
here being that it was NOT to be considered an abbreviation. Also much ado
was made of the fact that the actual name is M.G. as opposed to MG
As for MOWOG, although Morris WosoleyGroup may not parse, that is indeed
apparently what it came from.
Of course, these are the people who insist on calling sausage Bangers, and
England as GB, etc.etc. (just where in the world did the word "fascia" come
from??!!!)
