Hey, if you buy you oil and filers on sale at a place like WalMart (I
usually have a years supply in my garage) an oil change with filter will
cost $6-$7. Without a filter it would be $4-$5. Over 100K miles at 3K
change intervals, the total will be approx $230 with a filter change each
time; and approx $200 with a filter change every other time.
$30 is less than one hour of a mechanic's time even here in Florida. It is
an easy choice for me. Oil & filter every 3K miles.
