Hi Mark,

The answer is yes you can put an OD in a Midget.

All you need is a 1500 Spitfire OD transmission, a hacksaw and a welder. This
will cope with up to 120 bhp, if you have more power you might have problems.

Have you or a PO modified the engine from standard, i.e. why fit an uprated
clutch. If you must have one try Moss, their UK (london) operation do a very
good tuning manual for MGB and Midget.

The 5 speed kits available in the UK are for the A series engined cars - pre 76
- and will it might be possible to fit one to a 1500 engined car I don't know
of it being done yet.
