Polyeurothane/Delrin suspension bushings

Me again...

I just purchased a set of MGB-V8 A-arm bushings. After taking a look at
the front suspension, I'm wondering if there is anything stronger for the
shock bushings and sway bar bushings. I've seen polyeurothane bushings,
but these are expensive and I don't want too harsh a ride. I've had
delrin A-arm bushings on my 67 B-GT and these were fine.

Do the poly/delrin bushings wear out quickly? Is the ride excessively
harsh with poly/delrin shock bushings? What kind of handling
improvements can I expect?

I'm thinking about making myself a set of the poly/delrin type if they are
too expensive to buy. I have access to a lathe, drillpress, and other
machine tools. Anyone know where to buy bars of polyeurothane or delrin
plastic? Any recommendations on type, hardness, etc? Am I out of my
mind for thinking they would be *real* easy to make?

Looking forward to any comments.

-Jeff
