RE: Silly part names

I always got a kick out of the "dip" switch for selecting the highbeams on
the headlamps. Does anyone know where and how that term originated and how
it applies to using your brights? It seems to me that if I "dipped" my
lights, the beams should drop!

do you call the little channel under your nose on your upper lip?
