All Coupe's had a vinyl covered dash fascia, trim roll and scuttle.
On the 1500 Coupe's the fascia and the scuttle could be different
colors by the fascia matching the contrasting trim roll.

The 1600 Mk 2 roadster was the only one with a vinyl covered scuttle.
It came in only red or black. All other roadsters had painted fascia
     and scuttle.

The factory DID supply MGAs with the top surface of the scuttle (between the
dash rail and the windshield, and between the fenders) in a vinyl material
identical to that on the dash.

However, per Clausager's book "Original MGA", these were only on the late
1622 model. Thus, it is unlikely that this was correct for a 1959 model. No
1500 model had vinyl on either the dash or the scuttle. I have not made a
study of the 1600.

I've been unable to obtain a definitive answer, maybe someone out there
knows for sure:

my '59 A coupe has the instrument panel, and the dashboard above it,
finished
in leather. I have seen others that have leather on the instrument panel
only
or none at all - the panel and dash being painted the same color as the rest
of the car. I have also noticed ragtops seem to vary on the finish material.
Having spoken to several original owners of the cars results in varying
answers.

The question: was this a factory option or was it a feature added on by the
dealers?

Also, were radios a factory option? (I should know but ashamedly don't)
