Well fortunately it's not that bad yet, but the inspectors (at the TUV) know 
what 
headers look like, the have a hunch that british cars did not come with 2 
double Webers (with only one "b" please!!!!) and they can distinguish a 
chrome K&N from a stock filterhousing. Anything you do that they can't 
see or hear, or they just happen not to see (my friends Lancia Monte 
Carlo always passes with header and 2 double Webers) is OK until you have 
an accident, your car is scrutinized and found to be modified. Then your 
liability insurance does not have to pay!!!!
