I second that in spades, Felix. The con is, say anything you want at the
time of the accident to get the other guy to relax, then deny everything.
While driving in the traffic lane of a shopping center parking lot, my son
was broadsided behind the door by a woman who admitted to the policeman
that she was looking to the rear, while driving forward. She later
refused to notify her insurance company, saying my son was at fault,
because he must have been speeding in order to get in front of her during
the brief time she was looking to the rear. Then there was the guy who
rear-ended my grad student at a stop light. He claimed he stopped in
time, but my student suddenly backed up into him. Let your insurance
company collect; that's what you have them for. People who drive without
insurance don't deserve your consideration.
