A further exlanation on dialling the UK from abroad......
01462 490049 is the number you dial for B&G from within the UK. When calling
from outside the UK you drop the initial "0" from the area code and prefix it
with 44, so you dial 011 44 1462 490049
Putting the extra 1 in got you to an unobtainable number in the wrong area!!!
Recent changes to UK area codes have been an almost universal adding of a 1
after the initial 0. For example B&G used to be 0462 490049, now they're
01462 490049.
