Thanks to all that offered wheels for sale or suggested sources of a steel
wheel for my MGA. I ended up finding a very straight (and round :))one at M
& G Vintage Auto in Tuxedo Park NY. They have several more 1500 and 1600
wheels if anyone is interested.
BTW, before I painted my wheels I stripped off the four layers of previous
paints. There were layers of black, white, and a pale yellowish (maybe
primer?), but the bottom layer was Orient Red. My A was origninally Orient
Red and it appears that the steel wheels were origninally body-color. I read
somewhere that some early MGA's came with body-colored wheels from the
factory, but I haven't seen a picture of one. I painted mine good old silver
with Moss wheel paint.
Anyone have any info on early A's with body-colored wheels?
