This is normal...and I don't feel very comfortable cruising at 4000 for very 
long, 
but I don't believe that it's horribly bad for the car.  However, I always try 
to 
remember that it IS over 20 years old...

Why?  I know there are two different types of overdrives that were fitted in the
B's...I can't recall the details right now.  My point is, overdrives were 
fitted 
on later model transmissions, so unless you REALLY want a new tranny, just get
the appropriate overdrive unit.  (I know one of them is an LH type, but I can't 
remember anything else...back to the books gor me <g>)
