Alan Costich asked about the "big valve" head for MGB's. This head was used on
cars with 18V engines manufactured from 8/71 to 11/73(source: MG Driver,
Nov/Dec issue, p44). They had an intake valve diameter of 1.625" vs. the
1.562" found on earlier and later heads. Casting numbers (I seem to have read
somewhere that the #'s are not totally dependable) are 12H2709 and 12H2923
(Source: British Automotive- Novato,CA). Respective part #'s are 12H2708 and
48G644. I suspect that other heads could be modified, but I have no idea what
the cost would be.
