Hey I thought I might share a little adventure I had on Saturday with
the
list. A fellow piston head friend of mine asked if I wanted to go to a car
show swap meet with him on our birthday (no were not twins just born on the
same day). Well I though I might as well knowing the types of car shows he
likes are the '35 fords with blown chevy engines. Well we get to this show
and like always I'm looking for the one ore two odd British cars. Spotted a
'72 MGB GT but not much else. So we're scavenging through all the chev and
ford junk when I spotted a head off and non-smog early B. I pick the thing
up and notice it still has the aluminum thermostat housing attached. The guy
selling the junk says I don't know what that’s from..... I think it some kind
of Triumph or MG. Me biting my toung. I'll let you have it for $5.00. We
knowing it's worth at least $5.00 I start with I only have $2.50. You know
I've got to have some fun haggling some how. When my buddy pulls out a $5.00
bill and hands it too me. Dam I could have had it for $2.50. Well that’s my
MG story. And yes I'm Scottish and proud of it.

For the guy with the blown head gasket/block. Possibilities are the
head
was torked wrong (blown gasket, cracked head), Not retorked after ~500mi., or
the old studs are shot and stretching. I've changed to ARP crommoly studs on
my race engine and it helps.
