Fellow SOLers-

Anyone have anything to say about Peter Burgess' book "How to Powertune
MGB Four Cylinder Engines"? I have a bastardized 77 B, with a 79
engine, Weber DGV carb & header, Crane ignition, and an earlier cylinder
head. I don't know what year the head is from, I am guessing early
air-pump days.

I would like to get a little more power, and performance, without doing
a re-build. Whatever I do (if anything), I plan to acheive while the
engine is in the car.

The book sounds interesting, and supposedly covers things like brakes,
and suspension. Is it worthwhile given the planned scope of any
modifications?

Also: Does anyone have a simple way of determining what year head is on
this car? It would be helpful to know what compression ratio I am
running!

Regards,

Chris Delling
