Hmmm?  My '79B has an electric only inertia switch located in the
passenger compartment just to the left of the pedal box, right above the
bonnet release.  It's function is to shut off electrical power to the
fuel pump in event of a crash.  Handy if you want to test electrics with
the ignition on but don't want the fuel pump maintaining pressure to the
carb.  Just pull one of the leads off the switch.  Since it is really
hard to see unless you know where to look, it also doubles as an
anti-theft device if you pull one of the leads when you park it.  But,
mine doesn't have the mechanical (?) device you are referring to.  Is
that missing on mine?  Was that something that only came on the '80
model?
