i drove across iowa and nebraska with a tempermental pump by giving it
a shot when it would stop working ... i would just shut the key off and
then on. most times it would give me a few minutes of operation. kept
me awake one looooong night.
re: lubricating rubber
don't know if its compatable with todays materials but in the ooold
days we used glycerine mixed with water. you could buy glycerine at
the local drug store. i bet you still can. i payed about 10.00 a gallon
then, couldn't be much more now.
