  Joe,

   I've long since had to replace the flasher with a cheaper more modern
unit. ( I hope to return to the original one someday) Anyway, your are
correct. The light green wire goes in the middle of the two.   I have a
wiring diagram for the 1500  MGA and it has the following for the flasher
unit......

         23 (green with brown) connects from what looks like the "L"
connector on the flasher unit to pin 1 of the Direction Indicatior Relay
unit.

          66 ( Light Green)  connects from what looks like the "P"
connector (the one in the middle) on the flasher unit to the direction
indicator unit (green jewel) on the dash board.

         17 (Green) connects from the last connector on the flasher unit (
it's designation is un readable ) to A4 on the fuse unit. (all connections
at A4 should be green).
