This is for a friend of mine. Her brother has a Spridget in San Diego
and needs to get it going after a long lay-up. Respond directly to
jmusgrav@awinc.com

Don't clog the list, as he is not a member.

This is what my brother (John
Brent Musgrave) sent me about his car in mom's garage. My mom actually lives
in Lemon Grove. From talking with my brother, it sounds like he wants to fix
the car up and drive it back to Canada. However, maybe he would consider
selling it. Would someone buy it as is?? Do you know of someone good in San
Diego who could work on it? Since I know nothing about cars, feel free to
write my brother directly at his address in Canada: jmusgrav@awinc.com

Cut and paste from my brother's last email to me:

I'll have to see what plans I can realistically make to get down to
California and bring back the car. Ideally, I'd like to get someone to get it
in working order (it was running OK when I parked it some 15 years ago -
but!), take a plane down there, and drive back. If your racing friend
knows of a
good workshop (that doesn't have an elite hourly rate), I'd be glad to hear.

The car (1964 Austin Healy Sprite Mk. 2 with 1098 engine) might fetch a
little amount if I hadn't modified it (It has less than 25,000 miles on it).
 But I put an "Ashley"

[Maybe this is "Arkeley"? -Phil]

fiberglass front on it (from England), redid the dash
in mahogany with complete Smith instrumentation and a few gimmicks like an
international shortwave adapter hooked up to the Blaupunckt radio,
filled in the back with a mahogany roof for a speaker baffle, put in roll
bars, etc. The engine compartment also is no longer stock (Weber
carburetors, aluminum exhaust and intake header, oil cooler, etc.) Works a
lot better, but may or may not be "worth" more on the market for the
"improvements."

Someone stole one of the side curtains when the car was in Berkeley (the car
doesn't have roll up windows), so a drive back here in winter could be rather
chilly.
