Forget putting the V8 in the MGA. You will spend all sorts of time and money
only to regret it. Believe me I know, been there, done that. I've put a 350
Olds from a 69 Cutlass into a 64 Cutlass that had a bad 330. That was an easy
one. The 69 Cutlass ended up with a 327 Chevy. That was harder. But the worst
was the 327 in the 68 Ford Cortina. Talk about your understeer! And what
braking? All the wasted money and time spent was not worth it, not to mention
no one wanted these "butchered" cars.
Also have had Italian cars, 3 Alfas, 71 GTV (my favorite), 75 spider (not
running) and 76 GTV (rot mobile, and you thought English cars rusted). Boy
can that 71 with a 1750 fly! Twin Cam, Spica FI, cast iron header, 5spd and
4wheel disc! 122HP! Great driver, but you have to be ape like to drive it.
Keep it stock, keep it simple. Roland.........52 "almost made another
mistake" Austin.........73 MGB.
