Lord help us if that was the case, no wonder we ended up selling all our car
companies....

At this period in time though this wouldn't have been too difficult as this
was the time of major union action in all British industries, and
particularly British Leyland.

As I understand it, they do struggle to make the break-even on Land ROvers
sold in the States due to the discount required to be competitive in the US
market. TO give you an idea, the Land Rover Discovery is sold in the US at
pretty much the same price as in the US (and would have had to be exported,
which can't be cheap). But coming back the other way, a 14,000 dollar probe
sells here for close on 30,000.

a large scale basis (and don't forget Rover's Range competes with BMW pretty
much all the way up...)

NO :-)

Its ours, all ours, if we have to wait seven months for one (after ordering
it), then you can wait longer ;-P

Then again, I'd probably think about lowering it, making it lighter,
improving the suspension, oh hold on Lotus already did it with the Elise,
and they have a 10 !!! month waiting list !!!
