Got my proposed engine rebuild contract from Dave Clark's Sports Car
Services in the mail yesterday and I am one pshyced MG owner. My 75 has
115,000 on the speedo. I know the head was removed at one time but I
have no history on it. I have tons of power but am burning alot of oil.
I also have an O/D trans I want installed so this is really really
exciting to me. I've visited Dave's shop on 2 occasions and have heard
at least a half dozen accolades praising his attention to every aspect
of a rebuild. Soup to nuts w/ machining,balancing, replacement of every
part vulnerable to wearing, removal, instalation and I'll have a
stainless steel exhaust done at same time I'm looking at approx. $2,500
It will be better than new because the precision of the rebuild will
far exceed the precision of the factory's assembly line production. I
will do a rebuild on my 66 myself but need my 75 done, hassle free,
before March "goes out like a lamb" and I'm a driving fool again.
