While on the subject of good rides in that same general neck of the woods,
you might want to check out US-441 between Cherokee NC and Gatlinburg, TN.
It's a wide, fairly well traveled stretch of road but has a lot of
interesting, swoopy corners. One point, don't be supprised when you come to a
360 degree (not a typo: thats three hundred, sixty degree) down-hill right
hander.
