We used to call 'em "suicide doors", due to the fact they opened up into the
flow of traffic.

I attended "Fifth Friday" at a local drive-in last Friday night. Fifth
Friday has been designated "British Car Night." I took that to mean "only
British cars," which, by the way, was not the case. But it was still fun
having the ONLY British car on the premises -- the 1961 MGA. At least until
8:30 when a '65 MGB showed up and stayed for about 30 minutes!

[Tonight's the club meeting and I'm going to get a piece of some of those
who were supposed to be there!! :-) ]

Anyway...back to the "subject!" There was an Alvis there. A Brit car.
Beautiful! RHD, all original interior -- the exterior looked perfect and
original, too. It was a 4-door sedan, and the front doors opened from the
front at the front wing (I don't know what you call that setup).

I'd never heard of one before, and I certainly had never seen one. It was
quite a treat.

I surfed out onto the web and go no 'hits' on a search for "Alvis."
So...maybe it was just an "Alvis sighting," after all?!!

Just thought I'd share.

Carol
