It is indeed spring here on the southern portions of the left coast!

I received an invitation to visit Santa Cruz, CA last weekend and thought
it would be an ideal time to give the GT some exercise. For the second
year in a row, when attempting to start her after a long winters nap, the
fuel pump wouldn't. So I had to push her out of the garage, use the floor
jack to raise the passenger's side far enough to get at the pump and
apply a little friendly persuasion.

Now it's about 300 miles from Camarillo to Santa Cruz. I left about 9 in
the morning and arrived about mid-afternoon. Thank God for radar
detectors! I got checked 3 separate times!

Had a great time cruzing the area over the weekend and I was amazed at
the number of MGs I saw on the road or parked on the streets. I saw a
MGTD motoring south on Hwy 1, several chrome bumper roadsters and GTs
driving about. There were also several rubber bumper MGBs to be seen. At
least two of these were for sale. One, was pale yellow and from a
distance appeared to be a fairly decent car. Unfortunately I didn't have
the opportunity to stop and get any particulars. The other was a very
clean '79 LE with supposedly only 11,500 miles on it. I think the owner
had been smoking some really good stuff when he posted the price as
$12,500! I mean the car was in very good condition but...There was even a
'76 advertised in one of the local rags at $2,900 firm. (408) 464-7161 if
anyone is interested.

All to quickly the weekend was over and I pointed the nose of the GT
south and arrived home about dusk. Probably about 800 miles all told and
nary a hiccup once I persuaded the pump to pump!
