There's nothing wrong with Aussie-built cars...love the '50's 'utes  (and I
like the Diamante... like a big Acura for less $$$, tho' it needs bigger sway
bars and stiffer shocks)... 

but the Aussie Capri had the misfortune to debut at about the same time as
the Miata.... its a nice commuter car with a drop top, in a suzy secretary
kind of way, while the Miata (note: the following will likely be offensive to
LBC owners), is a worthy, legitimate sports car.

The Capri failed because it had too little horsepower, bland styling, merely
average handling, and no pizazz.   It sold poorly and has little resale
value.  IMHO, don't buy it.  Save your money for a used Miata if you can't
appreciate the virtues (and vices) of an LBC.
