Time to install those new lock cylinders in the doors. Mine is a 74 B and
the locks are like most, they have the spring clips which surround the lock
barrel. What is the best way to deal with these spring clip on removal and
installation? Do you just squeeze the ears of the clips together and pull
the assembly (lock barrel, clips and all through the hole in the door? Or do
you try to remove the clips? When installing the new locks, do shove the
lock with clip already on it into the hole in the door? The driver door has
an enlarged hole so the clips may not hold the lock from turning in the
door. If that is the case, how well do those alternative replacement locks
with the nut on the backside instead of a clip work?
