Hello John:

The so called drain tap at the rear of the block is very seldom usable.
When they cast the block, a lot of them were plugged with good old British
cast iron. The best and usually the only way to drain a B engine is to
loosen the lower radiator hose and drain from there. It is lower than the
block, and works quite well.
