Hi Mike,
And last evening, about 6 pm, I found the bug in my ignition system. It
was the wire from the coil to the distributor cap, that somehow had
burned off its end in the cap. When I cut back the insulation to get at
the wire, so that it could be spread around the little brass washer, the
last 1/8" of the stranded wire had become one solid piece. The wire
wasn't that old.... This explains the perplexing problem that has lead
over the past few days to replacement of coil, condenser, cap, rotor, two
sets of sparkplugs, and disappointment at not being able to drive the TD
in our parade on the Glorious Fourth. Aren't intermittent faults fun?
Bob
