loss of power-1977 mgb

Yo chaps!

One of my club members called me this evening with a problem with his stock
1977 MGB.

He seems to lose power at speed. Timing checked OK..no apparent vacuum leaks
from carb to carbon canister to anti run-on valve, etc. Seems more common
when car is at running temperature.

Could a failing ignition relay be the cuprit?!  How about a torn carb
diaphram?
