Bob,
I have a dash cover on my car now, and it does cause a problem with
the tonneau cover. I could get it fastened, but in the course of
driving, the lift-the-dot fastener would slide up the post because
of the extra height of the dash, and eventually pop off. It's fixed
now, because of a random gift of fate. I took the cover in to a
canvas shop to have a new zipper put in, and when they put the zipper
in, they had to take the LTD fastener off to run the cover through
their sewing machine. Well, they replaced the fastener with a new
one, and it grabs the post MUCH more tightly than the old fastener
did. It no longer pops off, even after extended driving. I would
recommend going ahead with the dash cover, and if the tonneau pops
off the post, go with a new LTD fastener on the tonneau, and I bet it
will work just fine. If your problem is getting the fastener to go
on the post in the first place, try unzipping the zipper behind the
passenger-side headrest before you attach the tonneau to the dash. I
usually have to do this anyway on cold mornings to fasten the snap on
the windshield pillar.
