Yes they are.  But one was leaking a bit before the trip started. 
Besides, shock absorbers are designed to be bbbbounced all over on rough
roads, that's what they're for.  I don't believe there's any excuse for
any shock absorber crapping out in two months time, regardless of the
reason, and especially not just because of road use.  The original ones
lasted 38 years.

And thanks for reminding me - I still have to call Apple again.
