This sounds like it could be a wheel bearing.  Some types of wheel bearin=

damage only manifest themselves during turns because that's when the
bearings see an axial as well as radial load.  Jacking the car up and
spinning the wheels may not be enough to find it, though.  You might just=

have to pull the hub apart to inspect it.  I haven't done this an a B in
many years, but I did have the same problem in a S**b not too long ago - =

took me almost a year to figure it out!
