  Good idea, I hadn't thought of an electrical problem, since our MGs
have Lucas systems that never seem to falter.  That switch is a real
stinker to remove, but you might see if you can poke the wire off with a
long screwdriver and jumper the switch test it.  The OD works when the
positive wire is allowed to ground through the OD, as the switch is
closed when in 4th.
