Except that the reason, in your case, is that you're blind as well as

get from the U.K.. Get a life, pal.

FYI, I posted US$500 to the Di fund. How much did you and your white
horse give?

Question: What do you see when you stare in disbelief at a person
who posts "DI" crash jokes on a British Automotive list with British
contributors?

Answer: Nothing, Absolutley Nothing!

Obviously a wholly (should that be AN wholly Kai?) off topic subject
however
being a Brit and living in the USA for 18 years i can see both sides of
this and
feel a certain obligation to break up the fight!

When i saw the original post it struck me as 100% English style humour, I
didnt
find the jokes especially funny but neither did i cringe or feel outraged
- it is a trait
of the English to self-deprecate far more than most other nationalities
and in this
instance Princess Di is an extension of self. Also. English humour is in
general
far more acid and biting than its US counterpart - we brits revel in the
agony of
others and something is only REALLY funny when someone starts to get
angry!!!!
Similarly, US humour has far more defined areas of what is considered in
poor
taste - death jokes arent that big in polite society, certainly not to
the extent youd
hear it in a pub in Charlton (is the 3 tuns still there?) - I met Gene
Fox once and he
certainly had a great sense of humour on that occasion (the son of a
bitch also won
the GT class at that show when mine didnt even get a mention! but you can
forgive him since his
car really is that good!-dammit....)
So its all the old story of "two nations divided by a single language"
and in this case
"separate senses of humour" . Now we can go back to the old Tolerance
thread and
live in peace forever (man)
