 Actually Scott, it shouldn't have any effect on the torque reading of a
Stud.
  When you torque a nut onto a stud (such as a head stud), the stud
itself should not be turning. All the force on the stud is in tension.
  The torque applied to the nut causes the tension force on the stud.
