This is a common problem with the current-operated turn signals and causes a 
lot of 
people bother.  Even though changing the bulb did the trick, you may still have 
a poor 
connection somewhere, waiting to rear its head again when the 'new' bulb gets a 
little 
tired.  Try measuring volt drops long the circuits.
